ABSTRACT:
The primary objective of this study was to formulate and evaluate an all-natural lip balm utilizing beetroot as a safe, organic alternative to synthetic colorants and antioxidants. With increasing consumer concern regarding the toxicity of lead and chemical dyes in commercial cosmetics, this research explores the potential of plant-based pigments for lip care. The lip balm was formulated using a base of beeswax which called as stiffening agent, sea butter or cocoa butter works as emollients, and coconut oil acts as moisturizer. Beetroot extract was incorporated as the active colouring and antioxidant agent. The formulation process involved the fusion method, ensuring a homogenous blend of the lipid phase and the aqueous beetroot extract.
