ABSTRACT:
Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disorder characterized by abnormal keratinocyte proliferation, epidermal hyperplasia, and persistent inflammatory responses, significantly affecting patients' quality of life. Although currently available therapies can effectively control disease symptoms, their long-term use may be associated with adverse effects, high treatment costs, recurrence, and limited accessibility, highlighting the need for safer and more effective therapeutic alternatives. Acalypha hispida is a medicinal plant traditionally recognized for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and potential immunomodulatory properties. However, its therapeutic potential against psoriasis and the molecular mechanisms underlying its activity remain insufficiently explored. Therefore, systematic investigation of A. hispida using network pharmacology integrated with in vivo experimental models may provide valuable insights into its potential role in psoriasis management and identify key phytoconstituents, molecular targets, and signaling pathways involved in its therapeutic effects.
