ABSTRACT:
This study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of herbal soap using natural ingredients to provide a skin-friendly alternative to synthetic soaps. Four formulations (F1–F4) were prepared using a melt-and-pour glycerin base enriched with aloe vera, almond oil, shea butter, glycerine, rose water, and vitamin E. The soaps were evaluated for organoleptic and physico-chemical parameters, including pH, foam height, and foam retention. All formulations showed uniform green colour, smooth appearance, and odourless nature. The pH values (7.2–7.8) were within the acceptable range for topical use. Foam height remained consistent at 2 cm for all samples, while foam retention ranged from 3 to 4 minutes. Formulations F1 and F2 demonstrated better foam stability compared to F3 and F4. Overall, the herbal soaps were stable, non-irritant, and effective, indicating their suitability as safe and natural cleansing products.
