ABSTRACT:
This study presents the formulation and evaluation of an acne control daily herbal face wash utilizing carambola extract, turmeric, aloe vera, honey, and xanthan gum. Acne, a common skin condition, necessitates effective yet gentle skincare solutions. Herbal formulations have gained popularity due to their potential efficacy and minimal side effects. This research aimed to develop a face wash targeting acne control by harnessing the synergistic properties of selected herbal ingredients the formulation comprised carambola extract, chosen for its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, combating acne-causing bacteria and oxidative stress. Turmeric, renowned for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, was incorporated to alleviate inflammation associated with acne and inhibit bacterial growth. Aloe vera, valued for its soothing and healing properties, aimed to calm irritated skin and promote tissue repair. Honey, a natural humectant and antibacterial agent, contributed to moisture retention and acne prevention. Xanthan gum served as a thickening agent to enhance product consistency and stability. The pH of the face wash was measured to ascertain compatibility with the skin's natural pH, minimizing irritation and maintaining skin health. Grittiness testing identified any abrasive particles that could potentially damage the skin. Homogeneity assessment ensured uniform distribution of ingredients, maximizing efficacy. Extrudability testing evaluated the ease of dispensing the product from its packaging, enhancing user convenience. Overall, the formulated herbal face wash exhibited promising characteristics conducive to acne control. The comprehensive evaluation underscored the product's quality, efficacy, and user-friendliness, highlighting its potential as a viable skincare solution for individuals grappling with acne-related concerns.
